Simatec Open Pit Fermentation Tank

The OPEN PIT VESSEL is short and wide in order to enable the formation of wide superficial foam and a fast yeast setting.

It is fitted with a wide hermetic door that allowes to remove impurities that appear on the surface during the first days of fermentation. The skimming from above allows an advanced cleaning of the wort, because on the upper surface, already in the first brewing days, can concentrate impurities such as resins coming from the hop, protein residuals and yeasts (especially in case of high fermentation), substances that in the time precipitate on the bottom

It is particularly suggested for the first fermentation (low and top) of beers that will have a second fermentation in bottle or in keg.

It is also recommended for beers that will have a second fermentation in tank because you can have a fast wort cleaning and also decrease the time of use (and consequently the number) of the more expensive cylinder conical tanks.
